World Autism Awareness Day, April 2, 2013
Families need your support 365 days a year!
So lately, I've been wondering
Who will be there to take my place
When I'm gone, you'll need love
To light the shadows on your face
If a great wave should fall
It would fall upon us all
And between the sand and stone
Could you make it on your own
~The Calling/Wherever you will go

A favorite song of mine, the lyrics make many of us autism parents out there shake and panic......will our children be able to make it on their own?
Currently 1 out of every 50 children in this country have an ASD diagnosis. I wrote in detail about that here a few weeks ago.

Tuesday April 2, 2013 is the day this year that has been dedicated to World Autism Awareness! A day that the media will report on this ever increasing crisis, and give families a cookie, please pardon my sarcasm!
As the parent of a child that is severely impacted by this devastating disorder, i often dream that the hype and awareness would last everyday!
April is also designated as autism awareness month, a whole month! Now that's a chocolate sundae with a cherry on top, oops more sarcasm! But seriously, us parents and professionals dealing with this epidemic daily, prefer to name April, autism ACTION month!
Forget about lighting it up blue, walking and buying symbolic puzzle pieces to show your support! Instead, help a friend or family member that needs YOU!
You can help a family impacted by autism in many ways! Start by talking and sharing information....FACTS!
Make autism awareness a daily priority until the condition does not exist to cripple families and destroy our future generations any longer!
And...so much more! Please contact me for more tips/ideas on how you can make a difference in the lives of those close to you living in the trenches of autism!
Peace, love and happiness always...
