Local Dentist Donates Funds to Help Autistic Center Thrive

Spreading Autism Awareness

One day about five weeks ago, I received a visit from Martha Lambert from Glen Ellyn Pediatric Dentistry P.C.

Lambert wanted to see Kaitlin's Hideout, my business, which is a place for autistic children. She also wanted to let us know that she was in support of our organization. We talked about children with autism and how dental procedures are very stressful and overwhelming for them due to their sensory issues. Lambert went into great detail about how her practice is very aware of the challenges autism children face, including those while in the dentist's chair. Lambert explained how they go to great lengths to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

We discussed ways to promote Kaitlin's Hideout and how being a member of the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce would be very beneficial to us, giving us an opportunity to network with local organizations that would possibly be able to support us.

I explained that we opened four months ago and have wanted to join the Chamber from day one. However, since we are operating without a grant or even a loan, the funds are just not available. I told her that we were saving up to join and that hopefully we would be a part of the group in the near future.

That evening, I received an e-mail from the Chamber welcoming us as a new member!

I was floored!

Mr. and Mrs. Lambert paid for our membership! We are forever grateful for their generosity, support and awesome act of kindness!

Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Lambert from the bottom of our hearts!! And, thank you for all you do every day to help children with autism!

I have to say, since our ribbon cutting ceremony, I've really felt the love. I am humbled by the genuine interest and the outpouring of offers to help support our organization.
