Lady Hilltoppers are Cross Country Champions!

Glenbard West girls bring home the title for the first time.

Glenbard West Girls Cross Country team is the new reigning champion in Class 3A.

The Hilltoppers won the state meet in Peoria's Detweiller Park Saturday for the first time. Glenbard standout senior Madeline Perez, who spent a good part of the season nursing a strained, did not match her 2012 performance. But still finished a strong third (17:03) behind New Trier's Mimi Smith and Hinsdale Central's Alexa Huff, and set the pace for her team.

Hilltoppers junior Lisa Luczak, sophomore Lindsay Graham and sophomore Grace Rogers also were named All-State.
