Kriser's Natural Pet Store Opening June 8

Owners of pampered pets in Glen Ellyn will now have a new place to purchase treats, food and those must have squeaky toys. Glen Ellyn is now home to its first all-natural pet store. Kriser’s, a Chicago-based pet retailer, will open its doors this weekend.

The pet store is opening shop at 674 Roosevelt Road, in Pickwick Place. Kriser’s opened its first store in Chicago in 2006 and now has locations around Chicago, Southern California and the Denver area, according to the company.

Saturday, June 8, Kriser’s opens and is hosting a celebration all weekend with grand opening promotions, Kriser’s said in a news release. 

The promotions will include 20 percent off pet food and supplies and four plush toys for a total of $5. Kriser’s also will be giving away 25 percent off coupons toward a first grooming, in addition to offering free nail trimmings all weekend. Pets and their people have the chance to take complimentary professional photos on June 8, from noon to 4 p.m.

The opening in Glen Ellyn is the company’s 10th location in the Chicago area, adding to the 17 stores already open nationwide, Kriser’s said in a news release.

“Often referred by our customers as the ‘Whole Foods for pets,’ Kriser’s is committed to providing pet parents the best in all-natural products, services and education,” Brad Kriser, founder and CEO said in the release. “Opening in Glen Ellyn gives us the opportunity to further share the story of how an all-natural lifestyle can better the lives of both pet parents and their animal companions.”

Kriser’s ensures that pet owners will always get the very best, all-natural products for their pets and the founder and CEO reviews all of the products sold in Kriser’s stores before endorsing them as “Kriser’s Approved.” According to the company, the Kriser’s seal of approval guarantees there is no corn, soy or by-products in any of the consumables, meaning customers can be confident they are buying the best for their pets.

For its grand opening the store is also partnering with a pet rescue group, making food donations, according to the news release. For every pound of food sold on June 8 and 9, Kriser’s will donate one pound of food to Illinois Animal Rescue. The rescue group will also be at the store all weekend with adoptable dogs and cats.
