The precincts in the article are the ones listed by the city of Boston as "officially" in the South End. There are other precincts that contain parts of the South End neighborhood, but also parts of other neighborhoods. I can't separate the results out by technical neighborhood borders. But for your reference results from: Ward 8, Precinct 2:
Democrats: Markey: 84.38%, Lynch: 14.84%
Republicans: Gomez: 47.83% Sullivan: 39.13% Winslow: 13.04% -

We (and the police, and the city) consider the South End to go to Melnea Cass. But regardless, I personally wouldn't like to see a news story of a small offense at the expense of a big one a few streets over! I am happy to report that a big bag of crack cocaine was allegedly found and is now off the streets, even if those streets aren't in the heart of the South End, but on the edge.
