A man awaits extradition in Denver, CO, after posting threats of extreme violence at the DuPage County Courthouse to Facebook.
Daniel McDade, 31, of Lombard is charged with two felonies after threatening to do a "Columbine type" shooting at the DuPage County courthouse in Wheaton, DuPage County Sheriff John Zaruba announced Monday. Sheriff's detectives said they started investigating after a citizen sent a tip that McDade was threatening courthouse employees and "extreme violence" when he returned to the courthouse for a drug test scheduled for April 4. According to a news release from the sheriff's office, McDade, on bail for a DUI, posted threatening and "disturbing" messages on Facebook after he received notice of the April 4 court appearance. DUPAGE: Glen Ellyn: A man who sued College of DuPage over injuries he sustained in a 2010 on-campus attack has been given additional time to refile his lawsuit after it was essentially thrown out in November. William Kendrick filed a lawsuit last year claiming the school and its police should have prevented him from being jumped by a group of non-students. COD successfully argued for dismissal on grounds it was protected under state immunity laws, and that Kendrick failed to make a premises liability claim against the school. Kendrick has until early next month to refile. A hearing is scheduled for March 28. Naperville: One man indicted in connection to several area robberies, including at least two in Naperville, has pleaded not guilty. …

A Glen Ellyn resident entered a blind plea of guilty to stealing more than $46,000 from her former employer. Lisa Van Bogget, 43, of Glen Ellyn plead guilty to theft, one count of online theft and one count of official misconduct after stealing funds from the village of Westmont. Van Bogget was Westmont's village finance director from Nov. 15, 2007 to Aug. 24, 2010, when she wrote unauthorized checks from the village's account to pay for her own personal expenses, which include credit card bills. Her scheme unraveled when village officials uncovered an unauthorized check Van Boggest wrote to herself. The village of Westmont then notified the authorities.
