Tuesday a winter weather advisory goes into effect, continuing until 9 p.m., according to weather.com. Snow is expected to begin Tuesday afternoon, possibly mixed with sleet. The snow may become heavy at times and continuing through the afternoon, according to weather.com. The snow should taper by evening. More than 6 inches of snow are possible throughout the area and strong gusting winds of up to 40 mph are also expected, according to the forecast.
