The voting began at 8 a.m. Saturday and residents were pouring into the Village of Glen Ellyn’s Civic Center to cast ballots to choose among candidates vying for a place on the April 2013 ballot. The Civic Betterment Party holds a caucus-style process to put forward candidates it feels are qualified for positions in village government and on the library board. On Dec. 1, Glen Ellyn residents have an opportunity to come together at the Town Meeting to learn about and choose prospective candidates for local village offices. While any resident may run for village office, the Civic Betterment Committee has put together a slate of candidates it feels are qualified to fill positions ranging from Village President to Library Trustee. The committee is asking residents to choose those they wish to see on the ballot next April. The candidates will be presented on Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the gymnasium at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center. Vote for any candidate that touts fiscal responsibility, pro any business, and is for responsible development and doesn't list non-profs and library initiatives in their bios.
