District 87 Hosting Suicide Prevention Workshop Tuesday

From Glenbard High School District 87 The Glenbard Parent Series-GPS- Navigating Healthy Parenting and Cooperative Association for Special Education (CASE) will present a suicide prevention workshop with Jason Washburn on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Glenbard South High School. This presentation focuses on how parents and schools can help prevent suicide among teens. Washburn will educate parents about teen suicide, dispel common myths, review risk factors and discuss the parental and school roles in reducing risk factors. Washburn will address what parents and schools can do to increase factors that protect teens against suicide-risk, including discussion of the components of a comprehensive school-based suicide prevention program.
