Montclair Avenue, near Glencrest Middle School, is a quiet street but that could change if a proposed development is approved.
The changes needed to be made to an existing subdivision to accomodate 23 new single-family homes have some residents concerned. Sean Buckley recently moved to Milton Avenue in Glen Ellyn with his family. Not long after moving to Milton Avenue, which runs runs north-south and intersects with Sheehan Avenue just west of Glen Crest Middle School, Buckley decided to move one street east because of the cul-de-sac. He felt it was a safer place to raise two young children. But just months after making the move, the village is considering adding a new subdivision that would turn his no outlet street into a through-way street like Milton. Residents are invited to attend a plan commission meeting to hear more information about the potential development of 23 single-family homes.
Residents can review plans for a new subdivision at Thursday's plan commission meeting. Commissioners will review the pre-application for the proposed nine-acre subdivision comprised of 23 new single-family homes that would be located at 760 Sheehan Ave., the area just north of Glen Crest Middle School. Thursday's 7:30 p.m. meeting will be held in the Galligan Board Room at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center, 535 Duane Street.
