The following is a message from the Wheaton Police Department: Wheaton Police officers are searching for a suspicious person who was reported frequenting a bus stop near the areas of Wexford Circle and Creekside Drive. The most recent incident occurred on Wednesday, April 18. The suspect allegedly pulled alongside a teenage boy as he walked to the bus stop, located at Wexford Circle and Creekside Drive, at approximately 7:30 a.m. The suspect did not stop and made no remarks to the boy. The same boy stated that prior to the April 18 incident, he observed the same man in December of 2011 taking photographs of the boy and a friend while they were playing outside near the bus stop. The suspect did not speak with the boys and left the area. …

The DuPage County State's Attorney will not pursue criminal charges against a police officer involved in a Feb. 18 off-duty shooting on the Fermilab campus, officials announced Friday afternoon. "Based on the results of an incredibly thorough investigation, it is my conclusion that the People would not be able to meet their burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt that the officer involved in this incident committed a crime," said Robert Berlin, DuPage State's Attorney, in a release. "As a result, my office will not be taking any action against the officer." An unknown offender remains at large after robbing a pharmacy.
A man with a handgun walked into Glen Ellyn Pharmacy demanding prescription drugs at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 20, according to a statement from the Glen Ellyn Police Department. The male left the store, 486 Roosevelt Rd., with the drugs and is described in his 20s, white, wearing dark jeans, a green sweatshirt and holding a backpack with a Chicago Bears logo. No one was injured during the armed robbery and police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department, 630-469-1187.
