Aside from the cold, we haven't had much snow this winter. So, if the predictions are on target, let's document what may be the worst snow storm of the season.
To snow or not to snow? That is the question. The prediction is for snow, whether it dumps or fizzles in Glen Ellyn is up to Mother Nature. The team won the Bill George Youth Football League Super Bowl on Nov. 10. Have photos of the team? Share them in the gallery.
Just like the Glenbard West Hilltoppers, another Glen Ellyn football team finished the season with a perfect record. The Glen Ellyn Golden Eagles' 103lb AFC Gold football team finished a perfect season, winning the Bill George Youth Football League Super Bowl at Benedictine University on November 10. Coach Jeff Fortuna's championship team finished 11-0 on the season with the 15-8 Super Bowl victory over the Wheaton Rams. Do you remember your favorite lunch box? Today's kids have as many options as ever but nothing will take the place of the Partridge Family or Scooby-Doo.
The lunch box is more than a place to put that sandwich, snack and drink, it's a place to let everyone know exactly what you like. Over the years, the size and shape of lunch boxes have changed just as the designs inspired by TV shows, movies and celebrities have also been updated to reflect the latest hot trends and true classics. That's why Justin Bieber and Darth Vader and Japanese cartoon characters are staring out at shoppers from the shelves of Target. Back in the '70s, the lunch boxes were aluminum. In the '80s, they gave way to plastic. Vintage lunch boxes now are highly collectible. They are displayed as collections in people's homes, and sometimes they get their own art gallery shows.
