BATAVIA A 20-year-old North Auroran and a 19-year-old Batavian were each issued complaints for unlawful consumption of an alcoholic liquor. An officer made the arrests at 2:12 a.m. on Feb. 21, according to a police report. Jason R. Leannah, of the first block of Grace Street, North Aurora, was speeding more than 40 mph over the limit. He posted his driver's license for bond for the speeding offense. Philip R.C. Vermaas, of the 800 block of North Forest Avenue, Batavia, was issued a notice to appear in court for failure to wear a seat belt, according to the police report. Leannah and Vermaas were each released on personal recognizance for their individual drinking offenses. They were each given March 19 court dates for all charges. ST. …

ST. CHARLES Police were called at 12:58 a.m. Jan. 13 to the Alibi Bar & Grill, 12 N. 3rd St., on a report of a woman vomiting. Police arrived to find the extremely intoxicated woman in the women’s bathroom, surrounded by a pool of vomit. She began vomiting again when paramedics arrived to check on her, and she was transported to an area hospital. A 46-year-old Wayne resident reported at 3:54 p.m. Jan. 12 the theft of a Samsung Galaxy 16 gigabyte smartphone. The victim told police he went to pick up the phone at the UPS Store, 2400 E. Main St., but that the box in which it had been shipped had been opened and retaped before he picked it up. GLEN ELLYN Baljinnyam Tserennadmid, 37, of the 0-99 block of Vivaldi Court, Wheaton, was arrested at 3:25 a.m. Dec. 2 at Roosevelt Road and Blanchard Street, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and endangering the life or health of a child. An iPad was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at Hadley Junior High School, 230 Hawthorne Boulevard, police said. The burglary took place between 1:40 and 3:30 p.m. Dec. 6. CHARLES Shan Robert Jezior, 39, of the 100 block of Wester Street, West Chicago, was charged at 6:51 p.m. Dec. 1 at the St. Charles Police Department with retail theft, and violation of a protection order. According to the report, Jezior tried to steal a 60-inch Sharp Aquos television valued at $1,078 from Walmart, 150 Smith Road. He fled when store employees asked him for a receipt and later was detained by police in West Chicago. While St. Charles police were processing Jezior, Walmart officials called back to report someone who looked like Jezior had been seen on a store security video from Nov. 29 stealing a 51-inch Samsung high-definition television valued at $584. You know those monolithic human figures carved by the Rapa Nui people from rock on the Chilean Polynesian island of Easter Island between the years 1250 and 1500? Yeah, those things. Well, a 4-foot tall one was taken from the front of a Geneva home recently. We are not making this up. Someone stole the “Easter Island Head” sculpture from the front yard of a residence in the 2200 block of Pepper Valley Drive sometime between 6 p.m. Nov. 16 and 7 a.m. Nov. 17, Geneva police reports said. According to the report, Farrell used the UPC code of a lesser-priced toy to purchase two LEGO Vampire Castle sets valued at $99.99 each for just $15.10. He was released on his own recognizance after posting a $50 booking fee and was ordered to appear in court Dec. 6. ST. CHARLES Elburn police responded to a rollover accident along Route 38 at 4:36 p.m. Oct. 31 to find two people running away from the accident into a cornfield. Elburn police requested a K-9 unit, and St. Charles police assisted but were unable to locate any suspects. St. Charles police then went to the 1600 block of Covington Court in St. Charles, where they met with the owner of the wrecked car, who had just returned home from work about 7:05 p.m. The owner, a 44-year-old resident, told police the vehicle, a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am, had been left unlocked with the keys under the driver’s seat in a parking lot on Wessel Court earlier in the day. ST. CHARLES Michael Brian Semmens, 20, of the 500 block of Bradbury Lane, Geneva, was cited at 3:09 a.m. Oct. 21 on the 2500 block of East Main Street with underage alcohol consumption. Police were investigating a telephone report of a drunken driver at a gas station in which the dispatcher believed the caller sounded intoxicated. When police arrived, they found the vehicle bearing the license plates the caller had cited, but the couple in the car did not appear to be intoxicated. The couple in the car was taking video of Semmens as he walked around their vehicle. The couple told police they were meeting at the gas station when Semmens confronted them, took pictures of their license plates and said he was going to report them for DUI. …
