Glenbard South, West National Merit Scholarship Finalists Announced

In February, roughly 15,000 semifinalists are notified across the country that they are finalists for scholarships.

Six Glenbard Township High School District 87 high school students have been named finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, which is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. Finalists have met high academic standard, receiving a recommendation from their principal and earning SAT scores that confirm the earlier qualifying test performance. In February, roughly 15,000 semifinalists for scholarships are notified by mail  that they have advanced to finalist standing. High school principals are notified and provided with a certificate to present to each finalist, according to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Congratulations To These National Merit Semifinalists!

These students scored high marks that could land them college scholarships through the National Merit Scholarship Competition.

Eight Glenbard West and South High School students are one step closer to being named National Merit Scholars. These students were recently named National Merit Semifinalists for scoring high marks on the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The finalists will be announced in February and if these students can make that final list they’ll be eligible for college scholarships.
