March Home Sales: Glen Ellyn Market Shows No Change; Median Price Rises

Year-over-year, Glen Ellyn saw no increase in the number of homes sold, though the median home price saw a more than 30 percent increase, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.

The 32 homes sold in Glen Ellyn during March 2013 represented no growth in sales over March 2012, when the same number of homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 14 homes sold in Glen Ellyn during February.  While the number of homes sold was stagnant, the median price of homes sold in March increased in Glen Ellyn. The median price rose  32.4 percent to $338,500 from $255,625 in March 2012. The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout DuPage County experienced notable sales gains in March, MORe reported. MORe gets its statistics from Midwest Real Estate Data. Glen Ellyn Home Sales Drop 6.7% in February

In February, Glen Ellyn saw a 6.7 percent drop in home sales, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.

The 14 detached, single-family homes sold in Glen Ellyn during February 2013 represented a 6.7 percent drop over February 2012, when 15 homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 33 homes sold in Glen Ellyn during January. The median price of a home climbed 33 percent to $366,000 from $275,000 in February 2012.  The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout DuPage County saw growth in January, MORe reported. Home Sales: Glen Ellyn Sales Jump in January

In January, Glen Ellyn saw the largest increase in home sales among Patch towns in DuPage County.

The 33 detached, single-family homes sold in Glen Ellyn during January 2013 represented a 312.5 percent increase over January 2012, when 18 homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 27 homes sold in Glen Ellyn during December. While the number of home sales was up, the median price of homes sold in January was down in Glen Ellyn. The median price fell 4.2 percent to $307,500 from $321,000 in January 2012.  The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout DuPage County saw growth in January, MORe reported. Glen Ellyn December Home Sales Up, Median Price Down

Home sales continued to stay in a positive direction during December, though the median price in Glen Ellyn saw a decrease over the prior year.

The 27 detached, single-family homes sold in Glen Ellyn during December represented an 8 percent increase over December 2011— one of the most modest increases in DuPage County, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 39 homes sold in Glen Ellyn during November. In addition, the median price of homes sold in December ($303,000) was -29.9 percent lower than the median price of homes sold in December 2011 ($432,500).  The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout DuPage County saw growth in December, MORe reported. Glen Ellyn: November Home Sales

In November, the median home price in Glen Ellyn went up and the number of homes sold increased significantly compared with November 2011, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.

The 39 detached, single-family homes sold in Glen Ellyn during November represented an 85.7 percent increase over November 2011, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). There were 18 homes sold in Glen Ellyn during October. In addition, the median price of homes sold in November ($418,000) was 30.6 percent higher than the median price of homes sold in October 2011 ($320,000).  The market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout DuPage County saw growth in November, MORe reported. MORe gets its statistics from Midwest Real Estate Data. Downers Grove saw the largest percent increase, with 137.5 percent more homes sold year over year in November. Glen Ellyn Housing Market Drops, Median Home Price Rises: October Home Sales

Glen Ellyn saw the largest percent drop in home sales during October — among DuPage County Patch communities, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors.

Unlike other communities in DuPage County, during the month of October Glen Ellyn's housing market saw a decline in the number of homes sold. While the market for detached, single-family homes in suburbs throughout DuPage County saw growth in October, that was not the case in Glen Ellyn, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). MORe gets its statistics from Midwest Real Estate Data. Glen Ellyn saw the largest percent drop, with 18.2 percent fewer homes sold year over year in October. You might want to include a "sample-size alert" with this kind of information. When only a few homes (18 vs. 22 in 2011) are sold, it's awfully problematic to claim that there was a dramatic rise in the median home sale-price given the disparity in home prices based on location.   more ›

Glen Ellyn Median Home Price Drops Significantly in September

While homes continue to sell in Glen Ellyn, the median price of a home dropped about 35 percent from Sept. 2011.

Home sales in the Chicago area during September were at a six-year high, according to a recent RE/MAX report—but it was a mixed bag if you were trying to sell property in DuPage County. The number of homes sold dropped in Burr Ridge, Darien, Downers Grove, Glen Ellyn and Hinsdale in September 2012 compared to September 2011, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe), which used statistics from the Multiple Listing Service. Glen Ellyn saw a slight drop in the number of homes sold in September, with 27 home sales, two fewer than in 2011, a 6.9 percent decline.
