Trial Delayed in Wheaton Home Invasion Case
Kerin Ramirez now scheduled for late-April trial.
The scheduled start of a trial in the case of a man accused of breaking into an off-duty police officer’s home has been pushed back three weeks. Kerin Ramirez, who is charged with home invasion and aggravated battery in the September incident, was supposed to begin his trial Tuesday morning. However, an unavailable witness prompted prosecutors to ask for a delay. Judge George Bakalis reset the trial for April 24. Ramirez is accused of breaking into the home of a Wood Dale police officer’s home on Papworth Street, near Wheaton, during the morning of Sept. 24.
