SATURDAY, MARCH 30 Someone at 4 p.m. stole a bicycle that was left unattended in a driveway on the 100 block of Brandon. The bike was valued under $500. Lakeith Caldwell, 18, of the 300 block of Lambert Road, Glen Ellyn, was charged at 3:57 a.m. with uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license suspended and failure to dim headlights at Roosevelt and Lambert roads. SATURDAY, MARCH 16 A store on the 500 block of Roosevelt Road reported at 1:09 p.m. that someone entered the store and stole three boxes of Bluetooth speakers and a pair of Sol Republic headphones. FRIDAY, MARCH 15 Paul Maior, of the 4600 block of South Dubois Avenue, Brookfield, and Patrick J. McGuire, of the 21W500 block of North Avenue, Lombard, both 46, were charged with residential burglary/attempted residential burglary. Moore, 47, of the 700 block of West Liberty Drive, Wheaton, was charged with public intoxication at 7:43 a.m. at the intersection of North Park Boulevard and Hawthorne Street. Devin M. Police said Michael Jon Conrad II, 23, of the first block of Briar Street, was arrested at 7:29 a.m. at Roosevelt Road and Surrey Drive. He was charged with illegal transportation of alcohol, driving an uninsured motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license, disobeying a stop sign, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of 30 grams or less of cannabis. Police said someone threw a cinder block through a patio door window causing it to shatter in the 300 block of Spruce. The incident was reported at 8 p.m.   A vehicle parked in a driveway in the 700 block of Chidester was burglarized between 11:15 p.m. Feb. 22 and 8:30 a.m. Feb. 23. Jordan R. Kinkle, 18, of the 100 block of Bryant, was arrested at 6:50 p.m. at the Shell Gas Station, 631 Roosevelt Road, Glen Ellyn Police said. He was charged with retail theft. Police said Joseph F. Ferrero, 42, of the first block of South Lombard, Lombard, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. at St. Charles and Riford roads. He was charged with driving without a license, driving and uninsured motor vehicle and charged with a sign violation. Mark E. Washburn, 53, of the first block of North Parkside, was arrested at 8:16 a.m. at Binny’s Beverage Depot, 670 Roosevelt Road, police said. He was charged with panhandling. Police Investigate Park Boulevard Accident

A vehicle veered across northbound Park Boulevard Monday night striking a tree.

A single-car accident, which took place Monday night, remains under investigation, according to the Glen Ellyn Police department.  Traffic was down to one lane heading north in the 200 block of Park Boulevard Monday night after a vehicle struck a tree. The accident took place at about 8:50 p.m., said Glen Ellyn Deputy Police Chief Bill Holmer. The driver of a Chevy Suburban, who police did not identify, was heading south on Park Boulevard when the vehicle veered across the northbound lanes and struck a tree in front of a residence at 229 S. Park Blvd. Police are still investigating the incident. Both Glen Ellyn Police and Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Co. responded to the incident.

Salon Bandit Charged in DuPage Robberies; Faces Maximum of 120 Years in Prison for DuPage Incidents

Jason Logsdon, 41, of the 900 Chicago Avenue, Evanston, was charged with four armed robberies in DuPage County. He was charged earlier in the week in Cook County. He faces up to 120 years in prison.

An Evanston man already charged in 11 business and hair salon robberies in the Cook County was charged Friday with robbing a Glen Ellyn Great Clips, along with three other businesses in Lombard. Jason Logsdon, 41, of the 900 block of Chicago Avenue, Evanston, was charged with allegedly robbing four DuPage County businesses in the past two months, according to DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin. He was charged with four counts of armed robbery, each a Class X Felony punishable by up to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The law allows for the sentences to be served consecutively, making it possible that Logsdon could serve a maximum sentence of 120 years. Logsdon was charged earlier in the week with robbing 11 …

Matthew M. Fuhrman, 37, of the 100 block of S. Milton Avenue, was arrested at 9:01 p.m. at the intersection of Park Boulevard and Hill Avenue, Glen Ellyn Police said. He was charged with public intoxication. Police said Jose R. Serafin, 25, of the 10900 block of Prescott, Roselle, was arrested at 11:35 p.m. at Roosevelt Road and Royal Glen Drive. He was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license, speed and possession of drug paraphernalia. Someone reported a driver’s side window was broken on their vehicle in the 300 block of Larch Lane, police said. The incident took place between 9 p.m. Jan. 29 and 9 a.m. Jan. 30. A vacant business at 529 Roosevelt Road was found to have a large crack along the entire window, police reports …

Village Approves Series of Pay Increases for Glen Ellyn Police

The first of four pay increases is retroactive to Nov. 1, 2012.

Glen Ellyn Police will receive a series of pay increases over the next four years. The Village of Glen Ellyn and the police union came to a collective bargaining agreement, which was approved by the village board last week. The 2.5 percent pay increases for the 29 members of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 202 will be retroactive to November 2012. Additionally, two pay increases of 2.5 and one of 2.75 percent respectively will take effect on Nov. 1, 2013, Nov.1 2014 and Nov. 1 2015, according to Village documents. The contract also provides a 1-percent step increase for officers who were at the top step for at least a year, according to Village documents.
