In April, terms expire for board commissioners Ron Aubrey, Melissa Creech, Gordon J. Kinzler and Julia Nephew. Aubrey is the only board member not seeking re-election. The Lake Ellyn Master Plan calls for $6 million to $12 million in recommended improvements.
The Glen Ellyn Park District has the go ahead to begin moving forward to find funding to undertake improvements to Lake Ellyn Park and the boathouse. The Lake Ellyn Park Master Plan was approved Tuesday in a 6-1 vote from the Glen Ellyn Park District Board of Commissioners, according to a story in the Daily Herald. Last year several public meetings were held to gain input from residents in regard to the type of changes that were acceptable and warranted. The Glen Ellyn Park District also met with community groups and sent out surveys to park neighbors to gather feedback. In December, the Master Plan was unveiled to residents.
