A Glen Ellyn couple has opened Bottle & Bottega, which offers an evening of painting in a party environment.
Lynn and John Day were ready to embark on their “encore careers” and were looking for a new business to start. The Glen Ellyn couple wanted to use the skills they acquired over the years in business and party planning. When an opportunity aligned with their skill sets and their love of art and nightlife, they found the perfect match in Bottle & Bottega. Bottle & Bottega offers hands on art sessions that allow adults to paint outside the lines and have a fun evening of food, drinks and painting. Some events are held in “pop-up” locations, like bars, while private or corporate events can be held at homes or other locations. The franchise was started in Chicago in 2009 and has grown to four locations; Glen Ellyn is the fourth location, said …

The stationery store has relocated from Naperville to downtown Glen Ellyn and expects to open this week.
Glen Ellyn residents have a new location to buy party invitations or fill any stationery needs with the opening of a shop in downtown. Local resident Lesley Vesevick has relocated her business Papier Girl from Naperville to downtown Glen Ellyn. The business is expected to open Wednesday, if all goes well with the finishing touches, Vesevick said. The shop is located at 413 N. Main St. and will carry a variety of invitations for children and adults that will fit the need for any occasion, Vesevick said. The stationery shop will also sell greeting cards, wrapping paper, calendars, stationery and other related items. Papier Girl opened in Naperville in 2005 and Vesevick took over as the owner of the business in 2009. "I live in Glen Ellyn and…

A weekly column asking readers what types of businesses they'd like to see in vacant storefronts around Glen Ellyn.
Businesses come and go. So we wondered what Glen Ellyn readers would like to see fill some of the vacant locations around town. Located adjacent to the downtown Glen Ellyn post office, this location on Pennsylvania Avenue has a very official feel to it with the ornate doors for the entrance. The location is across from Honey Café, next to a hair salon and has street parking. What type of business do you think would be a great addition to the downtown and would do well at this location? Let Glen Ellyn Patch know! Share your vision for this Pennsylvania Avenue vacancy in our comments section. --------- Have the latest Glen Ellyn news delivered to your inbox. A weekly column asking readers what types of businesses they'd like to see in vacant storefronts around Glen Ellyn.
Businesses come and go. So we wondered what Glen Ellyn readers would like to see fill some of the vacant locations around town. Paper lines the windows of this downtown location and nothing appears to be happening at the storefront, which is located near Chin’s Chop Suey and The Glen Art Theatre. This location on Crescent Boulevard appears to be in a good spot for foot traffic. The exterior of the shop, was once painted to give it an old-time shoppe feel. What type of business do you think would be a great addition to the downtown and would do well at this location? Let Glen Ellyn Patch know!
