Ellyn's Tap Owners Open Warren's Ale House in Wheaton

Warren's Ale House is now open at 51 Town Square in Wheaton, run by the same family that operates Ellyn's Tap & Grill in Glen Ellyn.

The owners of Ellyn’s Tap & Grill have opened their second restaurant, Warren's Ale House, at 51 Town Square in Wheaton, with plans to take the traditional American pub menu up a notch. The Hernandez family grew up in the restaurant industry. Working at their father's Mexican restaurants, George, Jerry and Leticia Hernandez learned the ins and outs of running an establishment. Brothers George and Jerry started with Ellyn's as kind of an experiment, Jerry said. Marine combines military and culinary skills.

Gerardo “Jerry” Hernandez, owner of Ellyn’s Tap & Grill, is familiar with hot spots—ones that lie in his busy kitchen and ones he faced over seas while serving as a Marine. Hernandez almost lost his life during one of his two deployments to Iraq, and he says it's those experiences that have shaped him into a successful restaurant owner here in Glen Ellyn.  Hernandez is no stranger to working in restaurants.
