Last Chance to Share Downtown Parking Input with Village of Glen Ellyn

Residents and business owners can submit surveys on downtown parking and enhancements Feb. 15.

Friday is the deadline for residents to share input on downtown parking and preferences for streetscape enhancements with the Village of Glen Ellyn. Two surveys are available for residents and business owners to complete. The information with be used to guide recommendations regarding traffic management, bicycle and pedestrian safety, streetscaping and parking, according to the survey. The village was awarded a Community Planning Grant from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning to fund the Downtown Streetscape Plan and Parking Study. In addition to the two questionnaires, there is a visual preference survey available online, which uses a series of images to help gauge preferences for development in downtown Glen Ellyn. Open for Business During Construction

Businesses in the Little Shops are still open while ComEd does construction in downtown Glen Ellyn.

A few downtown businesses want shoppers and residents to know they are open for business while ComEd completes construction in downtown Glen Ellyn. Business owners in the Little Shops at 526 Crescent Blvd. want to remind patrons that they may enter the building from the Main Street entrance while construction is underway. As Glen Ellyn Patch has reported, ComEd sidewalk work is also reducing some parking spaces in downtown Glen Ellyn. While the utility is in the process of doing work construction, Main Street north of Crescent Boulevard to the alley at 526 Crescent Blvd. will be closed. 10-Minute Parking Helps Asian Pearl Take Out Lovers

The spot will limit parking in the evenings.

Take out lovers who get frustrated every time they have to find a place to park when grabbing some food at Asian Pearl may have a little less stress finding temporary parking. One parking spot has been reserved in the evening near Asian Pearl, 466 N. Main St., for take out lovers to stop in, grab their food and go. A parking spot is now set aside as 10-minute parking outside Costello Jewelry, said Carol White, executive director of the Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn. Christine Lin, the restaurant’s manager, contacted White saying her customers were asking for an easier way to pick-up their take out orders. In turn, White spoke with the Glen Ellyn Police chief and was able to secure the parking spot.  The parking spot is 10-minute parking …
