Marcel's Featured in ABC7 Food Segment

The downtown Glen Ellyn culinary store was the focus of a feature on cooking classes for children.

Local cooking store Marcel’s Culinary Experience was featured Wednesday in an ABC7 food segment. The segment, which aired during the 11 a.m. newscast, featured the station’s food reporter Steve Dolinsky as he learned about Marcel’s cooking classes for kids. Marcel’s regularly offers classes for kids on the weekend and during breaks. The next children’s cooking class will be offered on Feb. 9.  In the upcoming program, children will have the opportunity to enjoy a class on Valentine’s Day sweets, which will include making a snack mix, meatballs, garlic bread and cupcakes among some of the menu items.  Have you or your children taken a class at Marcel’s? Embarking on a Culinary Experience

A Glen Ellyn resident opens the doors to a new culinary retail store and cooking school.

To formulate her new business, Jill Foucre mixed in her family heritage, a love of cooking from her late grandfather and her business skills to concoct a store to attract food lovers from throughout the area. Last week, curious Glen Ellyn downtown strollers peered through large windows to see Foucre and her staff organize cookware, fine linens and other items on shelves as they prepared for today's (Monday, Sept. 26) soft, unofficial opening of Marcel’s Culinary Experience, 490 N.
