Wind Advisory: Overnight 25-35 mph Winds, Gusts to 50 mph

The National Weather Service issued the advisory from 7 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday as cold weather moves into the area.

If you’ve been wondering where the winter weather has been in the Tri-Cities and the greater Chicago area, brace yourself: The answer tonight is blowing in the wind. Strong winds will sweep through the Chicago area, bringing colder temperatures and the possibility of snow flurries Sunday and Monday. The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a wind advisory from 7 p.m. Saturday through 3 a.m. Sunday, according to Accuweather, as colder weather and possible snow flurries move into the area. The wind advisory forecasts west to northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph gusting to about 50 mph, although a few gusts up to 55 mph are possible. Weather Alert! We Might See Super-Early Frost Tuesday Night

If our good friend "Patchy Frost" shows up tonight, it will be the earliest on record.

According to Tom Skilling, AccuWeather and others, the Glen Ellyn area might be in for the earliest frost in many a year tonight. The National Weather Services-Chicago says our old friend, "Patchy Frost" is back in town and has even posted a Hazardous Weather Forecast in his honor. "Patchy frost is possible west of a Crystal-Lake-to-Pontiac line after midnight," the NWS-C says. There's also a high risk of rip currents for the Illinois and Indiana shores of Lake Michigan. Tom Skilling says the Coolest weather since late May threatens unseasonably early frost far west/northwest suburbs.
