Judge Orders Psychiatric Evaluation for Glen Ellyn Man Charged in Numerous Incidents

A DuPage County Judge held two hearings in the last week related to arrests involving Glen Ellyn resident Christopher Shukin.

A DuPage County judge has ruled a Glen Ellyn man who has been arrested numerous times in the last year will be denied bond until he undergoes a psychiatric evaluation.  Christopher Shukin, 22, of the 400 block of Hill Avenue, was most recently arrested in November in Glen Ellyn in connection with public indecency. In October, he was arrested in Wheaton after being tasered. He was charged with criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct—breach of peace, disorderly conduct—peeping Tom and resisting arrest.  Shukin has been arrested 10 times since November 2011, according to a story in the Daily Herald. At a court hearing Dec. 27, Judge John Kinsella ordered that Shukin be fitted with a monitoring device. He was not in court that day and was …

Glen Ellyn Police Arrest Man Charged in October Wheaton Taser Incident

Police reports confirm that Christopher Shukin was arrested in Glen Ellyn on Nov. 7. He was arrested in Wheaton on Oct. 24 after officers used a Taser on him.

A Glen Ellyn man arrested in late October in an incident requiring Wheaton police to use a Taser to subdue him, was arrested in Glen Ellyn last week. Glen Ellyn police reports confirm that Christopher Shukin, 22, of the 400 block of Hill Avenue, was arrested at 2:34 a.m. Nov. 7 at the intersection of Main Street and Hill Avenue. Shukin was charged with public indecency, according to police reports. On Oct. 24, Shukin was arrested in Wheaton after police responded to a report of a man without pants walking around an apartment complex at around 10:20 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Briarcliffe Boulevard, Patch reported. Wheaton Police Taser Aggressive Half-Naked Glen Ellyn Man Wednesday Night

Wheaton police arrested Glen Ellyn resident Christopher Shukin after he resisted arrest and took aggressive steps toward officers Wednesday night.

Updated Oct. 25 at 2:35 p.m. Wheaton police used a Taser on a half-naked man Wednesday night after he allegedly took "aggressive steps" toward them near the intersection of Briarcliffe Boulevard and 22nd Street, according to Wheaton Police Chief Mark Field. Police responded to a report of a man without pants walking around an apartment complex at around 10:20 p.m., according to Wheaton Police.  Upon investigation, officers found Christopher Shukin, of Glen Ellyn in the 1600 block of South Briarcliffe Boulevard. Shukin tried to run, and when he clenched his fists and took aggressive steps toward the officers, they used the Taser on him, police said. He fell to the ground and continued to resist arrest. This kid is a menace. My wife's mother lives in his neighborhood. We had to call the police on him in July, he walked right into her garage and would not leave. His behavior is escalating, and eventually he could hurt someone. He does not understand right from wrong and no one seems to be monitoring him.   more ›
