A plaque on a wall inside the Kingdom Hall of Jehova's Witnesses states the Biblical phrase,"Love endures all…More things. Love never fails." Worshippers here will also see the same verse on plaques in Spanish and Hindi as well. Yes, Hindi. This church consists of residents from Glen Ellyn and Glendale Heights, and draws Hindi speakers from all over the Chicago area.
Rows of comfortable green chairs line the auditorium, where most of the public talks and meetings are held. The Kingdom Hall's meetings are open to the public, and it usually holds one public talk and "Watchtower" (a regular publication of the Jehovah's Witnesses) study each week, as well as a weekly meetings that includes Bible study, theocratic ministry school and services.
First Church of Christ, Scientist 600 N Main St, Glen Ellyn, IL60137 Inside the First Church of Christ, Scientist, bold white letters spell out W-E-L-C-O-M-E. There is no doubt the church…More wants the public to venture inside and browse through the resources in its reading room, which includes books by Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science. The reading room also carries CDs and videos, as well as archival material hailing from the 19th century. The reading room is open to the public on most days, but the church requests that people call before visiting to ensure that it's open. In addition to the reading room, the church holds Sunday service, Sunday school and Wednesday meetings.
