The Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company responded to the fire after 7:26 a.m. Friday.
A small fire was quickly extinguished Friday morning at a home in the first block of West 103Sheffield Court in Glen Ellyn. No one was injured in the fire and the residents all escaped without incident. The call for the fire came in at 7:26 a.m. Friday, Craig Eldridge, the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company’s public information officer said in a news release issued late Friday night. The fire appeared to have started in a bedroom closet. When the first engine arrived on the scene responders confirmed smoke was showing and quickly extinguished the fire. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation, Eldridge said. The amount of damage to the property was not disclosed.

By an 85-30 vote, the Illinois House moved on Friday to approve a law allowing certified residents to carry concealed firearms, which would end Illinois' status as the only state in the nation to completely prohibit carrying guns in public. According to Reuters, the "shall-issue" law, supported by Democratic Speaker Michael Madigan, mandates that concealed-carry permits be issued to Firearm Owners Identification Card-holders who have completed 16 hours of training; it maintains the ban on firearms in many places, including government buildings, schools, stadiums and bars. HINSDALE A female at her home on the 800 block of Chanticleer Lane reported that someone was looking through a window at her on May 14 while she was partially undressed. The female recognized the suspect as William Drew Daniel, 28, who lives on the same block, police said. Police at 8:39 p.m. quickly located Daniel at his home. He was charged with disorderly conduct and released to appear in court. maybe somehow someone misunderstood my stand on this issue.. just because I said I could see bad mistakes with crossfire happening from well intentioned people trying to protect themselves or others .. i am far from anti gun.
