Monday, Sept. 23

Glenbard Township High School District 87 School Board will meet at 7 p.m. at Glenbard North High School, 990 Kuhn Road, Carol Stream. Here's a look at the agenda.

Glen Ellyn Village Board will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center, 535 Duane St. Here's a look at the agenda.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

DuPage Against War Now will mark 10 years of voter advocacy on National Voter Registration Day Tuesday with a  registration drive at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Ave., Glen Ellyn. DAWN Voter Advocates' founder and organizer Kathy Slovick, said as a group, "we have easily registered over 15,000 new voters since our beginning." DAWN mobilized in 2003 to oppose the impending Iraq war. The group has registered at a variety of venues, but the best are colleges and high schools, where there is a large population of unregistered voters. Wednesday, Sept. 25

Join a community forum on the future of Glenbard High School District 87 at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Glenbard West, 670 Crescent Blvd., Glen Ellyn. The forum will focus on the 10-year master facility plan, instructional technology and extended lunch periods with academic support. Parents of young children, senior citizens and everyone in between are encouraged to come and learn about the important changes coming to Glenbard high schools. Feedback is welcome.

The Village of Glen Ellyn will hold a public meeting on at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on the third floor of the Civic Center to consider proposed changes to the village’s sign regulations. The meeting will take place at a regular meeting of the Architectural Review Commission and is anticipated to be the first of a number of meetings to be held over the next couple of months. A comprehensive rewrite of the sign code is planned, and the public is encouraged to provide thoughts and input into the process. Get the best choice of the large variety chrysanthemums featured in the “Mum’s the Word’ fund-raiser sponsored by the Glen Ellyn Historical Society. From Sept. 25-29 (Tavern Day) the mums will be on sale at Stacy’s Corners Store, 800 N. Main Street, Glen Ellyn.  Store hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, closed on Monday. Thursday, Sept. 26

It's Homecoming week for Glenbard South High School. Join the fun at the Booster Barbecue at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Raider Track, 23W200 Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn, followed by a pep rally at 7:30 p.m. at the Raider Gym. 

Waterleaf restaurant in Glen Ellyn will host a Duckhorn Vineyards wine dinner on Thursday, Sept. 26. Following a 6:30 p.m. champagne reception, guests will enjoy an exclusive four-course prix fixe dinner at 7 p.m. complete with Duckhorn Vineyards (Napa Valley) wine pairings. Waterleaf Restaurant is at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn.

Friday, Sept. 27

Homecoming! Glenbard South will take on Elmwood Park. Kickoff is at 7:15 p.m.
