Viewfinder: Glenbard West Girls' Lacrosse Finish Regular Season 22-3

Hard work pays off for the Hilltoppers in their second varsity season

Going 9-13 in Glenbard West's first varsity season was quite an accomplishment. Turning that into a 22-3 record just one year later, well that's something special for Glenbard West's girls' lacrosse team.

The Hilltoppers have been surprising teams all year. Their second place finish in an early season tournament hosted by Montini was an eye-opener.  They had to defeat last year's number four team, Glenbrook South, twice just to make it to the finals. Impressive wins against Benet, Wheaton, Lyon's Township and the number one ranked team in Wisconsin, Arrowhead, have made this season one for the record books.

Although the IHSA recognizes girls' lacrosse, most schools, including Glenbard West, do not fund girls lacrosse. After five varsity seasons, West will make a decision on whether to make girls' lacrosse a school funded sport.
