Rally 'Round the Hitters as they Head to State

Residents are encouraged to come out and show support for the Hitters as they head to state Saturday morning and rally around them when they return.

As the Glenbard West Hilltoppers head off to the 7A state championship game, and what is probably the biggest game for the team’s players, the Glen Ellyn community is being asked to rally around the Hitters.

At 9:30 a.m. Saturday the Hitter players, cheer, dance and band buses will be departing from the school in front of Biester. The community is invited to come out and show support for the team as they head down to Champaign for the game.

“We are hoping to have a huge send off for the student athletes and band members with people lining the streets in front of Biester and going as far as our GBW fans can, lining their bus route out of town down Park Boulevard,” said Kim Peters Lutz, one of the presidents of the Glenbard West Boosters.

After the game, regardless of the outcome, there will be a rally at the school in Biester gym when the team arrives home, probably around 10 or 10:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to show support for the team.
