Glenbard South Boys Golf to Compete at State Tournament

The Glenbard South High School boys golf teams will be competing this weekend in the Class 2A state tournament at Illinois State University’s Weibring Golf Club in Normal.

Sophomore Russell Matos, junior Michael Wittenberg, sophomore Christopher Dufort, junior Kevin Uvodich, junior Dakota Marino and senior John Marks will  compete for Glenbard South. 

Glenbard South qualified as a team for this year's tournament after placing first at the LaGrange Park Sectional. Russell Matos was a medalist at the meet with the lowest score shot at 74.

Matos also was named Glenbard South Boys Golf Athlete of the Month for September after he led the Raiders to top finish in the Geneva Quad with a 2 under par 70, top three finish in the Geneva Invite with a 74 out of 20 teams, and top 3 finish at Lemont Invite with a 74 out of 20 teams.
