Football: Glenbard West and South Football Postponed Until Saturday

Opening games for both Glenbard West and Glenbard South football teams were postponed until Saturday, Aug. 31, thanks to some rain and a lot of lightning on Friday night.

Glenbard West (14-0 last season) will take on Wheaton Warrenville South (4-5 last season) at 7 p.m. Saturday in Wheaton, and Glenbard South (6-4 last season) will be home against Addison Trail (2-7), also at 7 p.m.

After a triumphant season in 2012-13, the State Champion Glenbard West Hilltoppers will be back to see if they can retain their title. Glenbard South Raiders will look to improve upon the team's 6-4 season in 2012-13.

Other notable games for the Hilltoppers include the home opener on Sept. 7 against the Morton Mustangs, a game Sept. 28 against Hinsdale Central, and the Homecoming game game against Proviso West on Oct. 12. The first round of IHSA playoffs begins on Nov. 1

Glenbard South

The Raiders, 6-4 in 2012-13, will kick off the start of the 2013-14 season Saturday at home against Addison Trail (2-7 last season).

Some other notable games for Glenbard South are on Sept. 13, when the Raiders take on Rich East for the Raider Pride game. The Homecoming game has the team taking on Elmwood Park. And, seniors will celebrate during the Oct. 11 game against Fenton.
