Family Shelter Service 10K/5K Run Walk Run for her Life … Be a Hero for Hope
Superheroes wanted!
With this year's theme as "Run for her Life...Be a Hero for Hope" participants are reminded that through their support and fundraising efforts, they are helping individuals affected by domestic violence move toward a safer future. If they wish, participants may also show their character by wearing a superhero costume of their choosing. Form a team and increase your impact!
For kids, the Downers Grove Junior Women’s is sponsoring the Kid’s Fun Run, kid’s entertainment and other family friendly activities.

And with Halloween right around the corner, kids can come dressed as their favorite superhero, too! The first 50 kids receive a vintage superhero action figure.
Your support will help ensure that we can continue to offer service to those in need. With shelter, counseling, advocacy and support programs, our clients can triumph and become the true heroes. Past events have raised over $25,000 – this year’s goal is $30,000 to offset the loss of funding from DCFS which funded our Children’s Program. Money raised by team fundraising will be matched dollar for dollar by an anonymous donor.
