As the weather warms and the grass begins to green, a golfers thoughts turn to teeing off.
Before the golf season begins, Cantigny Golf Academy is offering a winter teaching series so golfers don’t get teed off once they hit the greens.
The series of classes is being taught by Greg Baresel, staff PGA professional, according to Cantigny Golf Academy. The series began last month, and three more classes will be held, which are open to the public. The classes are designed for all skill levels.
Baresel is recognized as one of the area’s top young golf coaches, and his primary focus with all students is to help simplify the game, according to Cantigny Golf Academy.
Classes are $10 for adults and $5 for junior golfers under 18. Classes are one hour and begin at 6 pm. The following are upcoming classes:
- Feb. 13: How to be more consistent
- Feb. 27: Gain more yards off the tee
- March 20: The best way to practice
In addition, Baresel invested in Trackman Combine, a new technology that enables golfers to test their skills and better understand their strengths and weaknesses, according to Cantigny. Trackman sessions under Baresel’s guidance are also available at the Cantigny Golf Academy.
