Dave Schutt was overcome with emotion as he watched his son join an elite rank of football athletes.
Before Saturday's playoff game, local soldiers presented Tommy Schutt with an All-American Bowl jersey in front of family and friends.
"To be able to achieve something like that is beyond our expectations," said Dave.
Tommy is one of 90 players selected from across the country to play in the Jan. 7 game in San Antonio.
On many NFL rosters are previous All-American Bowl athletes like Tim Tebow, Adrian Peterson and Ndamukong Suh.
At the end of this season, Tommy will head to Penn State University to compete as a Division I athlete.
