WDSRA Welcomes New Program Supervisors

Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) welcomes Danny Henson and Erin White to the WDSRA team. Both Henson and White join WDSRA as Program Supervisors.

“I am very excited to be a part of the WDSRA team,” says Henson.  “I’m looking forward to meeting and working with all the participants and their families. And I’m most excited about being directly involved with the success of our participants.”

With a degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Henson will oversee a wide range of athletics programs such as bowling, swimming and Special Olympics. His responsibilities include planning engaging activities, creating modifications for participants as needed and supervising part-time staff.

Henson’s background includes working weekly programs as a program specialist at Northwest Special Recreation Association focusing on leisure education, day camps, Special Olympics, social clubs and special events. In his spare time, Henson can be found playing basketball and softball or bike riding. He currently resides in Downers Grove.

White comes to WDSRA with a Master’s of Science from Indiana University’s School of Public Health in Therapeutic Recreation.  Responsibilities will include planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating special events, social and cultural programs, and day camps.

“I am excited to be a part of this team and creating such amazing opportunities for individuals with disabilities,” says White. “I am most excited about being hands on in the unique programs and camps offered here at WDSRA and seeing the significance that they have to each participant’s life.”

White enjoys playing volleyball, photography, trying new foods and is a big Blackhawks fan! She currently resides in Chicago.

Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) provides engaging, community-based recreational programs and inclusion services for children, teens, and adults with special needs.
