New Hadley Junior High Principal Named

The Glen Ellyn District 41 Board of Education approved the appointment of Steve Diveley during its meeting Monday night.

Hadley Junior High School will have a new principal in the 2013-14 school year. 

The Glen Ellyn School District 41 Board of Education approved the appointment of Steve Diveley during its meeting Monday night. Diveley will replace Chris Dransoff, who is retiring at the end of the school year, according to District 41. 

Diveley comes to Hadley from Plainfield School District 202 where for the last eight years he has been the principal at Heritage Grove Middle School. He also serves on the executive board of the Association of Illinois Middle Schools.

According to District 41, Diveley was chosen from a pool of 98 candidates. The selection process included input from parents, staff and students. 

He began his education career in 1994 working as a history teacher at Waukegan High School, according to District 41. After two years in Waukegan, he moved to Richmond to work as a middle school geography and science teacher. He also taught geography in Deerfield at Shepherd Middle School.

According to the district, Diveley earned a B.S. in history with a minor in earth science from Central Michigan University and earned his master's degree in administrative leadership from Northeastern University.
