Glenbard West Speech Team Competing at State

Students will be competing in five events this weekend during the State Speech Tournament.

Students from Glenbard West High School will be representing this weekend when they compete at the State Speech Tournament in Peoria.

Nearly every year, the school sends students to state competition. During the state tournament, members of the Forensics team will be competing in five events. In order to qualify for state, students must finish in the top three spots in sectional competition, according to the speech team. 

Students competing at state competition include:

Conor McDonough, senior, who will be competing in two events, Extemporaneous Speaking and Special Occasion Speaking;

Meaulnes Kenwood and Shalini Rao, juniors, who will be competing in Poetry and Oratorical Declamation respectively;

The team’s ensemble cast of Mohammad Saad, Bailey Bystry, Ben Berry, Carly Paras, David Hudson, Katie Philipson, Fiona Bare, Daisy Jones, Meg Maloney, Kyle Miller, Caroline Trant, Adam Rozak, Lexi Nogulich, Nate Young, Julia Dorn, and George Sanders will be presenting The Giving Tree, for a Performance in the Round, an event that is only done for the State tournament series.
