Glenbard West Applied Arts Teacher Dies
An announcement of the death was posted Tuesday afternoon on the school's website.
A teacher passed away on Monday, Nov. 7, according to the school website.
The cause of Mark Zurales' death is unknown at this time. He taught at GBW for nine years and currently served as the Applied Arts Department Chair.
Principal Jane Thorsen released a statement on the school website on Tuesday, informing parents, students and faculty about the loss. In the release, Thorsen states, "Mr. Zurales had a great rapport with his students and was a highly respected member of the West community."

The letter goes on to say that the school will have counselors and social workers in place to help students through this difficult time.
