Glenbard Students Commended for Academics

Students from Glenbard South and Glenbard West high schools are among the districts students honored for their scholarship through the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Glenbard District 87 announced Wednesday that 27 students have been named commended students in the National Merit Scholarship Program.  

Commended students do not continue in the competition for Merit Scholarship awards, however, they were among the high scorers of the 1.4 million students who entered the competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Some commended students become candidates for special scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.

Glenbard East: Nicholas Cornell, Jourdan Ewoldt, Brian Hinkley, Emily Schaub, Samuel Scully, Thomas Sierawski and Bradley Busching.

Glenbard North: Jennifer Duffy, Jade Hubinek, Alyssa Julian and Kaileen Beckman.

Glenbard South:  Rachel Gutierrez, Kathleen McGimpsey, Katie Obendorf and Caroline Srbeny.

Glenbard West: Alexander Flugel, Alishan Gaglani, Conor McDonough, Kaitlin Moore, Natalie Noland, Thomas Porter, Katherine Rodgers, Mohammad Saad, Cassidy Sauers, Lance Strait, Matthew Udelhofen and Fiona Bare.
