Glenbard South Student Named to All State Academic Team

Glenbard South senior Erik Greenwell recognized as a member of the 2012-13 All State Academic Team.

The Glenbard District 87 Board of Education on Monday recognized Glenbard South student Erik Greenwell, who was named a member of the 2012-2013 All State Academic Team, according to District 87.

Greenwell is one of 26 students named to the Illinois High School Association 2012-13 All-State Academic Team, sponsored by Caterpillar. He was chosen from a group of more than 450 students throughout the state.

Greenwell, a senior was recognized as an Illinois State Scholar in December and was a member of the boys cross country team.

Students named to the All-State Academic Team have a minimum 3.50 grade-point average on 4.0 scale after their 7th semester, have participated in at least two IHSA-sponsored sports or activities during each of the last two years and demonstrated outstanding citizenship.

The board also recognized coaches Doug Gorski, Ronn Claussen, and John Treiber.
