Glenbard South's Math Team Heading to State

The high school's math team recently took first place at regionals.

Congratulations to Glenbard South High School’s math team for taking 1st place at regionals on Feb. 23 and qualifying for state.  Out of 10 events, Glenbard South placed 1st in eight events and 2nd in two events.  The state competition will be held Saturday, May 4, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Nora Rizo, Robert Dobosz, and Haresh Harpalani coach the Glenbard South math team.  
Congratulations to the following students who won individual awards:
Pre-Calculus: Andrew Bean – 1st place and Sean Cates – 2nd Place
Algebra II:  Jennifer Lipa and Stephen Robinson – 2nd Place
Geometry:  Tyler Yam – 2nd Place
Algebra: Andrew Pen – 1st Place and Johann Gan and Avinash Panjwani – 2nd Place
1st Place – Pre-Calculus Team: Andrew Bean, Sean Cates, Amar Shah, Madelyn Nelson, Robert Glahe and Alex Chandran
1st Place – Algebra II Team: Jennifer Lipa, Ryne Recchia, Paige Jacobson, Priyanka Panjwani, Nisha Choksi and Stephen Robinson
1st Place – Geometry Team: Tyler Yam, Numaan Mahmood, Chris Bean, Claire Weesner, Jahnavi Puranik and Matt Skarha
1st Place – Algebra Team: Johann Gan, Andrew Pen, Kiran Sandiford, Avinash Panjwani, Michael Strohl and Hajira Ashfaq
1st Place – Calculator Team: Madelyn Nelson, Amar Shah, Stephen Robinson, Daniel Kalski and Grace Rose
