Glenbard Seeks Students for Anti-tobacco Committee

Submitted by Glenbard District 87

Glenbard District 87 and Reality Illinois are seeking student volunteers to be part of the 2014 Teen Advisory Panel: Anti-tobacco Committee, which will meet weekly throughout the summer.

Reality Illinois works to spread the word about tobacco industry advertising, second-hand smoke and other issues regarding tobacco use. It was created by and for Illinois teens with support from the Illinois Department of Public Health and DuPage County Health Department.

The group will meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays throughout the summer, beginning June 18 at the Glenbard District 87 administration center, 596 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.

Students will plan and implement an anti-tobacco campaign, including providing data and action steps to advocate for tobacco-free parks.

To volunteer or for more information, contact Gilda Ross, Glenbard District 87 student and community projects coordinator, at 942-7668 orgilda_ross@glenbard.org
