District 87 to Host 'Leaving Your Comfort Zone and Culture'

Glenbard District 87 to host presentation on experiences in other cultures Tuesday, April 2.

From District 87:

David Larson, superintendent in Glenbard Township High School District 87, and David Gorman, assistant public works director in Lombard, share something in common: They’ve both spent years in other cultures before assuming leadership roles in our community.

Larson spent his early childhood among primitive, stone-age people in Indonesia and his high school years in Malaysia.  Gorman spent three years in a mountainous village in southern Africa and continues to return there.

Both were immersed in indigenous cultures and they promote the importance of leaving one’s comfort zone.  The result is to gain new perspectives, connections and purpose.

During a special community presentation on Tuesday, April 2, at Glenbard East High School, both men will share photos and stories, reflect about their personal growth, and explain their continuing connection to those cultures. This lively, compelling presentation will begin at 7 p.m. April 2 at Glenbard East, 1014 S. Main St. in Lombard. This free program is open to community members of all ages.
