HOMEOWNERS LEARN FORECLOSURE PREVENTION OPTIONS APRIL 2 DURING MONEY SMART WEEK
DuPage County homeowners who want to learn about the Illinois foreclosure process and ways of keeping or selling their home will benefit from “Homeowner Preservation,” a seminar offered at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn on April 2 at 11:45 am.
Housing counselors from the DuPage Homeownership Center will address the resources available to people who want to stay in their homes, but are having financial struggles -- and how to avoid scams.
The seminar is being held in conjunction with Money Smart Week and is sponsored by the DuPage Homeownership Center, College of DuPage Business Solutions and the DuPage Money Smart Week Partners. It is free to the public and will be held in Room 2800 at the Student Resource Center, 425 Fawell Blvd. Reservations are being taken on a first-come, first-served basis and can be made by calling 630-920-2285 or by emailing lisa.jarmoszka@harrisbank.com.

During the 10th annual Money Smart Week DuPage, April 2 – 9, 2011, DuPage residents can get free money saving advice at more than 60 free events. Coordinated by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Money Smart Week is designed to educate consumers about money management as well as generate awareness of financial education programs on topics such as saving, using credit wisely, and financial education for youth. The educational activities will be carried out by more than 30 DuPage area community groups, financial institutions, not-for profit organizations, businesses, schools, libraries and local government agencies.
