ACT-SO Parent/Student Orientation

Are you interested in science? Do you like to experiment and discover new things? Are you gifted and talented?  Do you like to sing, dance, act, or write poetry? Do you paint or draw? Do you have a business mind?

If you do, then ACT-SO!


ACT-SO is a major youth initiative of the NAACP that provides a forum for African American youth to demonstrate their academic, artistic, scientific, and business expertise.

Eligible students must …

  • Be of African American descent

  • Be enrolled in grades 9-12

  • Be a citizen or legal resident of the United States

  • Be an amateur (having not received wages for professional services) in the category of the ACT-SO Competition
  • Parent/Student Orientation Sessions will be (choose one):


    Sat. Aug 25th (3-5pm), Sun. Aug. 26th (3-5pm)   


    Sat., Sep. 15th, (11am – 1pm) and Sat. Oct. 13th (12 -1:30 pm)

    The September and October orientations will be followed by our regular monthly Enrichment Sessions from (2-5 pm)
