Twenty-four Glenbard Township High School District 87 students have been named commended students in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Commended students do not continue in the competition for Merit Scholarship awards, however, they were among the top 5 percent of the 1.5 million students who entered the competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Some commended students become candidates for special scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.
