D41 Board Approves iPad Purchase for Music Teachers

District 41 board approves purchase of 20 iPads and software for elementary music teachers.

The Glen Ellyn School District 41 Board of Education on Monday approved the purchase of 20 iPads and software for elementary music teachers to use in class.

District 41 will purchase two 10-packs of 16GB iPads with Apple Care + for $11,160.00, and software programs including Garage Band, Sound Brush, Jug Band and Pitch Painter for a total of $888.40. The total cost will be $12,048.

Board member Sam Black said while he was slightly concerned about the purchase of the extra software and how it would be used, "If any of these things well help kids become more interested in music and extend their music career then I’m all for it."
