Chess Team Finishes in Top 20
Glenbard South's chess team made 16th place at the state chess tournament.
Congratulations to David McWilliams, Alex Pen, Dean Frigo, Jack Wagner, Jon Helck, Scott Wurtz, Pat Yasutake, Niko Ivancevic, Pat Clark, Sean Cates and Taylor Roman who make up the Glenbard South High School Chess Team.
Glenbard South's Chess team recently finished 16th out of 128 teams at the IHSA chess state tournament on Feb. 11 and 12.
David McWilliams led the team on board 1 going 5 and 2 and placing 19th. Jon Helck received an individual medal going 6-0-1 and placed 5th on board 5. Pat Clark received an individual medal on board 8 placing 8th by going 6 and 1.

The chess team finished its season with a 27-8 record, according to an announcement sent out by District 87.
