Will Ice Skating Return to Lake Ellyn This Winter?

A winter tradition for many long-time Glen Ellyn residents is to enjoy ice skating on Lake Ellyn. 

But since the lake has not frozen deep enough over the past two years, ice skaters have not been able to utilize the Glen Ellyn attraction, according to the Chicago Tribune. 

In the past decade, the park district has invested in improving the lake's quality for skating thanks to a $2 million donation given for that purpose, according to the article. The park district has yet to use its "Homeboni," which is a lighter version of a Zamboni and is meant to clear snow and fill cracks on the ice surface, the Tribune reports.
