Wheaton City Council Discusses Medical Marijuana Dispensing Operations

The city council gave preliminary approval of limiting the operations to the city's manufacturing district.

The Wheaton city council is expected to approve zoning changes that would allow medical marijuana dispensing operations to be located only in the city's manufacturing district, according to the Daily Herald. 

A preliminary approval of the changes was given be council members during a Monday meeting and a vote is expected before a state law takes affect in January, which will allow certain patients to be prescribed marijuana, according to the article.

The industrial zones of the city are located immediately south and west of Wheaton's downtown, according to the Daily Herald.
